On the government tit includes farmers who receive subsidies for BRM programs and Crop Insurance.

Without those programs there would be more farmers on the street.

And seniors who received old age security and GIS along with healthcare transfers.

And this is all paid for in part with federal taxes in Alberta paid at the same rate as every other province.

Alberta is sitting on large amounts of resource income and fiscal capacity to collect more taxes.

But somehow many think they shouldn't pay their fair share of taxes or run a government on a stable sources of revenue?

The problem is the culture of a certain entitled group of Albertans who think they deserve all the extra wealth because they are sitting on a large amount of oil. And that they should not pay any extra taxes because of it.

Its like the rich family down the road who strikes it rich on oil but complains because they have to pay a lot of taxes! Poor them! There life is so hard!

Furrow there are around 40 million acres of cropland in Sask. So most of the crop land is insured regardless of whether a small number of farmers go without Crop Insurance

"In 2022, Saskatchewan farmers insured a record 35.9 million acres through the
Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC), reflecting high participation for risk management. While total farm count was 34,128 in 2021, around 14,200 claims."

Many farms insure because their banks insist.
            we all in different situations.
