Things have to change. Schools have to require proof of vaccination as it is in Ontario. You don't expect rural issues in a rural issue forum? There is no forum for dumb anti vaxers

Well, at least no one can accuse you of learning anything from the disastrous covid restrictions and forced vaccinations.

It worked so well last time, might as well do it again for measles.

Worked for a long time without measles epidemics. Social media has bred a special kind of ignorance. Covid vaccination saved millions of lives. There were no forced vaccinations. There won't be any, but if you wish to have your kids educated in a school setting have them vaccinated.

I guess I don’t get what all the fuss is about?
Back when I was in elementary school some kids were catching the measles. Red measles if I remember right.
It seemed to be the opinion of teachers and parents at the time that it was good to catch then so you develop immunity and not have to worry about them later in life. I think most kids my age got them and I don’t remember anyone getting terrible sick and for sure everyone survived.
I know this area is quite remote and maybe we were out of touch with all the big scary diseases that were out there but back then it was no big deal.

I knew very little about Measles. So I looked it up. Before the vaccine virtually all children got measles (3 to 4 million cases per year). Each year about 400 died from it. A death rate of ~0.01% of infected cases. Or about 20 times less than the number of children who died in motor vehicle accidents per year in that era.

I was under the impression that it was/is a lot more fatal than that.

Only 400 from a preventable disease . I guess it was only someone else child. There are other issues besides death. So if it's only a few that die because they weren't wearing seat belts, there should be no rules.

                    LOL

                    >0.01% ????

We need government to have rules to make sure we have zero risk?

                    If 90% + are vaccinated now ??

Isn't that why this country never achieves it's potential?

People keep asking for more regulations.

It's just like any debate about public health care with these folks. It's either all one extreme or the other extreme.
