I'm not defending him but people used to read the Bible and believe it literally.
Hopefully his views have tempered/relaxed. At the moment I take our political situation this way, Carney is multitudes better than his predecessor, so thats a bonus. It may not be ideal but it "appears" he's attempting to repair trade relations with China. Trump is unnegotiable so why perform fellatio on him for no good reason, it's never enough for that personality.
