Merry Christmas everyone and at this stage in life I hope we all have a healthy new year. I find that watching at least one classic Christmas movie with family does the trick.

Merry Christmas everyone.
Hoping family can get together for you all.
52 years ago. 9 years old.
Winter of '73/74 was a doozy!
Roads all narrow and bush lined. Drifts the size of the chicken coop.
People with money bought ski-doos in order to get to town.
Both sides of family all lived 1- 20 miles away. 95% less than 7. (That 95 farmed)
Most had livestock to tend.
Nobody noticed weather, roads or a flu bug.
I remember walking the last 1/2 mile as car was stuck.
Big meals at both Grandparents'.
20 cousins of which, I was oldest.
Today family is 25-250 miles away. (Ya, miles lol)
My children and their cousins for the most part, don't know each other and are spread out nationally.
A bad cold/flu is going around with the cold snap, (everyone cooped up indoors).
People flat on their back with it.
Snowing here again. Today's event was cancelled by illness and weather.
Boxing Day's in jeopardy. New Years' event already cancelled by host due to illness.
With any luck I may get to see my daughter once this year.
Times sure change.
At least the local Newfoundlanders still have Tibb's Eve parties and I enjoyed last night.
Funeral in town yesterday for a 39 yr old mother of 3, after a lengthy illness. Teach your kid's something to remember about Christmas I guess. Without the memories, it becomes another day.
