Medium/Moderate risk with some control methods introduced can get it reduced to a lower risk rating. Culling one flock of Ostriches is hardly an extreme measure to help keep the risk rating lower. As other examples of animal control have been used in this thread - if your herd of cows tested for TB, they're gone. If my chickens tested for Bird Flu, they're gone. Why are the ostriches different? Because Covid?

My toolbox would not consider these events however the CFIA, WHO, CDC, and many others would.

Personally I'm fully in favour of a world pandemic. We carry along too many genetically defunct people due to our emotions and our make believe ethics and morals and it's lead to gross over population and poor health within the population, there are too many elderly in our system which is putting a strain on it, it's even begun to impact reproductive rates. It is no longer survival of the fittest.

Despite my own personal beliefs on the scenario, I can still see and understand why they are doing what they are doing.

And millions of wild birds fly all over pooping on everything , wiping out an ostrich farm will change notting , ostriches that were exposed ,survived and now have immunity , how about when they want to destroy peoples pets or horses or whatever ? and threaten a huge fine if you go and do an independent test on your animal ?

In my opinion, the difference is that the bureaucrats and public health officials lost all credibility with their authoritarian bungling of covid and the vaccine.

I don’t know where this concept of no symptoms and survival means immunity came from. Many different pathogens, be they viral or bacterial are quite capable of long incubation periods and some are as successful as they are BECAUSE they have little to no symptoms.

I’d be more willing to argue to keep some of the ostriches around as research to see how the virus behaves than the idea they’re immune.
