Governments invested in housing in the past. It's not sustainable that everyone can afford a new giant expensive dream home.

Housing rose in price in part because of low interest rates and easy money. Investors flooded the rising condo markets. Investors also took housing off the market for short term vacation rentals.

That is almost word for word what you read in some dieing msm media.

Incompetent politicians were supporting those policys and more that are worse to make real estate look like the economy was booming.
More than 1/2 of downtown Vancouver sits empty.
They aren't vacation rentals.

BC should be one of Canada's stars for real economic activity but lazy virtuous leadership has it in the crapper

finally made my last mortgage payment this September .

Fact is its very difficult to help people that have no interest in helping themselves , some tenants have destroyed the places they rented and ran off without paying
i have a small bit of experience of that
now nobody will rent to them , whats your answer for these wonderful people cc ?

Mental health problems can lead to homelessness and homelessness can to lead to mental health problems. The 2 are very linked.

And if you haven't figured it out yet health care has already been socialized.

But you guys are still thinking the developers and the private sector are going to solve the housing and mental health crisis on their own without government involvement? LOL

Which means you guys really don't want to fix the problems.
