I’ve used a propane oxygen gopher killer, it worked great, I never saw much flying dirt.
I’d think just putting propane down a hole would work as it should displace the oxygen.
I built a carbon monoxide gopher killer last year, basically a 10 horsepower generator running an air compressor with the generator exhaust going into a 50 gallon tank so the exhaust would cool and the air compressors intake would suck out of the exhaust tank, it worked really well but the recharge time was about 20 minutes between holes, bigger old engine would work better.

If anyone needs some gopher control and doesn't have time to do it themselves, I do. I'm a retired mountie and looking for some gopher shooting opportunities. The places a friend and I have been hitting in Saskatchewan and Alberta are under control now and I'm hoping we can help someone else out. Let's talk...

GM Retired Cop - My problem is that pocket gophers are multiplying like crazy but I do have some Richardsons here too. You near Regina?

I'm in Alberta, but travel into Sask. to shoot gophers every year. My gopher shooting buddy is near Regina, so I can send him your way easily. Send me some contact info and I'll have him reach out. Use triggerforensics@gmail.com

Thanks for the responses, guys. One place worked out well and we killed 1600 gophers there over a few days. Had a good time shooting and the landowner has a lot less gophers. A win for everyone. So, if you have a gopher problem reach out and maybe we can help you out too.

We have gophers but usually not many so I probably only shoot Les than a hundred per year and I never averaged much better than 10 every hour but yesterday on one hill I shot more than 200 in about two hours, it was nuts, little gophers are a pretty small target but the ground was crawling with them, now if I could bring the wife out so she could reload magazines it would be a romantic afternoon.
