With a shortage of healthcare workers and doctors and specialists in the public system, how does for profit, private healthcare clinics make the shortages go away?

    They don't!

All they do is poach resources from the public system which reduces resources and staff in the public system.

Efficiency gains can be made in the public system if governments would restructure and reorganize healthcare. Train more doctors and nurses. This can be and should be done without for profit private health care clinics.

The biggest problem we have is a shortage of primary care practitioners. Doctors and other healthcare professionals working in health clinic teams can provide most of the services needed for primary care, taking the pressure off ERs.

        CC.
I agree it is a supply demand problem. We need to increase supply. I do not want to simply throw more money at the same structure expecting different results.
I'm sure our individual experiences with health care varies. Mine with a public referral to a semi private pay for extras has been good.
My son's care is not available publicly. The entire mental health system is a complete shambles requiring a flamethrower approach. The all or none mindset contributed to that for sure.
Other's have had great experiences with Nurse Practioners. Changing primary care access long overdue. We can both agree on that.
Some services have always been co-pay. Chiro, eye, dental.
People with money will always pay for access, leaving the country to do so is a definable drain.
I'm having trouble understanding how a properly blended system takes away from the public. I believe it enhances access. Please explain.
All or none ideology has failed.

Crop is still calling covid a "scam" I see!

So the "scam" killed over 50,000 people in Canada. Many were relatively young and healthy people in the beginning phases and you call it a scam?

And overworked healthcare workers kept many people alive.

What an uninformed knob you are Crop!

Still putting ivermectin in your coffee every morning?
