Chuck, do you understand the concept of net vs gross?

A hypothetical farmer or oil company who receives "subsidies"(also known as not confiscating all of their income, as the socialists would prefer), but pays 5 times as much in income tax, contributes millions to the GDP of the country, creates countless downstream jobs, and virtually everything he produces is exported, contributing positively to our balance of trade.

Contrast that with a bureaucrat whose function is to obstruct the farmer or oil company from creating GDP, while collecting a generous wage, and a lifetime of benefits. All paid for from the taxes and royalties paid by the farmer or oil company.

Can you decipher which is a net taker, and which is a net maker?

Private profit and the public pays for the cleanup and the mess!

And by the way, Trudeau's pipeline to the west coast lowered the WCS differential and helped the oil industry. But according to chronic whiners in Alberta, Trudeau killed the oil industry!
