Independent journalists are very important in a democracy.

But far right conservatives attack journalists all the time.

In tRump land, tRump is going much farther and threatening and suing journalists. Just like Putin who will put them in jail, tRump would like to jail them if he could.

He is an authoritarian who will not tolerate dissent or criticism.

But the Crop is a supporter of tRump the authoritarian and thinks this is just fine!

Why do we need rebel news if we have the CBC to report on government policy and activities?

Why does the CBC have some of the lowest ratings in the market?
They have by far the largest budget.
Most media outlets in Canada run on smaller budgets than what the CBC passes out in bonuses to management when they lose market share every year.

Rebel news wouldn't exist if CBC did their job

I used to listen to CBC almost exclusively for their quality news reporting

Now they are all DEI hires and political activist.
