And thank you agstar for responding in a civil, mature and well-reasoned post.

That is a pleasant change compared to dealing with Chuck.

America's economy is a consumption based one. It does best when the peons buy not when the upper class does well. The best years were when corporate taxes were higher not lower.

And how long do you think the consumption based economy can be sustained without at least an equivalent production based economy to support it?

It's actually a really simple mathematical question.

In order for the U.S. to become a production based economy , the currency would have to drop and the living standard lower. Can you see that happening? That is what Trump is advocating.

Judging by chucks response, and the recent liberal leadership choice, The left has learned absolutely nothing from the lesson of the US election.

Good for them. Let them ride this issue right into the ground. Wouldn't surprise me if the useful idiots on the left are unknowingly following the playbook designed by the opposite side to fully discredit themselves.

              Lessons in a different country.
We were happy to have a Trudeau for 20 years altogether.
Pushing the king back into the sea is not part of our culture.
Even if Anyone But the Liberals put PP in office.
Our history shows Upper and Lower Canada will place the Liberals 2/3 of the time.
Watch, we think Trudeau left because people had enough lunacy.
It hasn't gone anywhere. In fact it's all forgotten.

The Democrats of course need to look in the mirror.
