Light crude refines to high value products such as gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel.
Local heavy crude here is known for its low wax content which makes some of the best diesel and jet fuel. As well as asphalt. Every oil deposit can vary in the petrochemical fractions it contains. Cracking the heavy also has other byproducts such as coke and sulfur used for a host of industrial purposes. Every time I drive by the local upgrader and see the massive tanks labelled diesel, naphtha, butane, jet fuel, and every fuel distributor’s semis lined up filling up with locally produced number1 and number 2 diesel I know it isn’t junk. To say it’s no better than bunker fuel and stove oil you are not well informed.

I guess the industry will have to redefine heavy crude as described in WR territory.

Question: More diesel that is always short in areas with light sweet? sfb

Answer: Certainly. More goodies in heavy sour than light. Not even more diesel and jet fuel but...

Did say, sorry. Should have said, is that described, "typical".

Glad to see some of the trolls from Alberta agree that Donnie is off his rocker on a lot of things!

He can't get the numbers right and he is about to increase the cost of everything with a 25% tariff.

So where will Dumpster get 4 million barrels a day if not from Alberta?

Looks like they need us as much as we need them. There will be no winners if Trump forges ahead with his stupid ideas!

And you still think this guy is fit to lead the USA? LOL

Gasoline is the byproduct now as demand goes down.
That's part of the reason for the big push for bio diesel.
The Crack doesn't balance when you switch more over to ev's and higher mpg ICE vehicles.
Nobody builds refineries without a Coker for heavy.

Trump got 49.9% and Harris 48.4% of the popular vote.

So Crop even after your buddies on Agrisilly think that Trump is wrong about the trade deficit and tariffs you still think he is going to be good for us?

You should stick to your absurd claims about covid vaccines Crop.
