Outgoing Saskatoon mayor says Poilievre's pledge to cut housing fund could kill hundreds of housing units

Charlie Clark says planned builds 'at serious risk' if Housing Accelerator Fund is cancelled

Saskatoon's outgoing mayor Charlie Clark says a recent pledge from the federal Conservative Party to cancel the national Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) would put hundreds of already-approved housing units in peril.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilivere announced on Monday that if his party forms government after the next federal election, he would cut the GST on new homes under $1 million.
Poilievre said he would pay for the plan by cutting two government programs — the Housing Accelerator Fund and the Housing Infrastructure Fund — which he described as costly bureaucracies.
The Conservatives say the move would save Canadians $40,000 on a $800,000 house and would spur the construction of an additional 30,000 homes in Canada every year.

PP is finally going to get some serious push back with the new ads. Its about time!

The yapper will have to defend his stupid and simplistic slogans which he repeats again and again because the guy can't write a normal sentence to explain and defend his policy ideas.

And if Trump gets elected he will lose support with his Trump lite BS. And end up with a minority.

Poilievre didn't seem to know his MPs to support their constituencies using the Liberal programs to build more housing.

No province has committed to removing the sales tax on new homes. And Crypto looks like a loser on his housing plan that he wants to download on to provincial budgets.

The proposed tax deductions appear to be a much more visible and efficient reduction in housing costs ?
The Saskatoon mayor talked about loosing subsidies of $20 plus thousand per door whatever that means.
Does the tax deduction work out to more than that Chuck?

The efficiency would come from not loosing a large part of the total funds lining liberal friends pockets.

            Much simpler more effective program.

Why did Conservative MPs ask for funding from the Liberal programs then?

Because it’s a program for all Canadians, not just the lefties.

Then that must mean Conservatives think it is a good program?

The yapper looks like a fool when his own MPs are recommending a Liberal housing program.

PP is a lightweight when it comes to policy. The simpleton slogans and blaming Trudeau for everything, only works if you are an uninformed partisan.

It's long past time for PP to answer the hard questions and look like a prime minister in waiting.

PP will be a big flop when he actually has to defend his own policies.

Not to mention, that he will have a lot of urban and suburban MPs which will not put up with the BS from the rural base.

PP will owe his win to them and will not want to alienate them so he will quickly scurry to the middle on a lot of issues.
