Farmers contribute 1000x more to the wealth of the country, provinces and local communities than the pittance in tax dollars they receive .
you neglect to mention that every single time .

And even more true about the oil and gas industry.

In our county ~93% of tax revenue comes from industry.

This countries economy is literally drawers of water and hewers of wood.

The oil industry gets very significant subsidies and tax breaks that turn into large profits.

Along with very low royalty rates.

And they don't have to cleanup their mess and abandoned wells which is another very large liability and subsidy.

And farmers and agriculture get significant subsidies as well.

And then you have the gall to criticize subsidies and support to industries you don't support?

Conservatives claim they don't pick winners and losers. But that's a lie and they do it all the time!

Farmers and agriculture are one of the only wealth generating industries left in Canada
The “subsidies” ag gets are a tiny fraction of the wealth generated.
