If US election was decided like ours (rep by pop), California would decide every election. How fair would that be? That’s exactly what is happening in Canada. The elections are set up this way so the East controls Canada and the outposts are servants of the Laurentians.

Our senate is a quasi rep by province affair except the anachronistic confederation we live under gives the maritimes for senate representation than western Canada. Besides senators are appointed by the pmo. True bloody democracy lol. Doesn’t matter what party is in power they keep the status quo as they can fill the senate with like minded peons when in power. Even the Americans government is an evolving mechanism. Right now the liberals and ndp supporters won’t argue with the unfairness until the conservatives are in power.
