Despite its shortcomings, Canada is not an economic basket case

Chuck why do you think the Saskatchewan economy was stagnant for generations because of a shitty socialist government and a government hegemony regulating the sale of wheat and barley? Call a spade a spade. You hate oil obviously but don’t do so much as hear a peep out of you why ag in western Canada has been playing catchup since the cwb was curb stomped. Every expert including yourself said it would be detrimental to farmers to lose the board but you supposed experts were so wrong. For as educated and smart as some are they let feelings get in the way of facts.

It must suck to be sitting on a lot of oil while making record profits and big wages!

"Let’s start with productivity. Oliver Loertscher and Pau Pujolas, professors at McMaster University, have done a deep dive into productivity growth and concluded that its observed stagnation in Canada in the past 20 years is almost entirely because of the oil industry. When they netted out the oil components of the economy and looked at productivity in the rest of the economy, they found it rose at about the same rate as in the past and compared with the U.S.?"?
You lose all intelligent audience with this type of response. This is clearly personal for you. Filling some need.
It seems to be the only response capable. If this were an episode of Criminal Minds, we'd find out the origins.

        Libertine definition:
        ?
a person, especially a man, who behaves without moral principles or a sense of responsibility, especially in sexual matters.

I learned a new word today. Thanks Chuck.

I have no idea how pretending to be without sexual morals is relevant to an economic discussion??

From memory, CC evolved during the generational cwb dismantle. Among other things.
HIs brand of backward-ism is what I grew up laughing at out here. You don't have to guess where he lives.
          I could go on...
But lately his efforts have degraded.

          Watching the fanatics here.
At first it was a sense of pride.
          A personal sense of identity.
          Then it became personal.
Some nearly cracked but they all moved on in a fashion. Some even started a successful short line. CC wasn't so lucky.
When you comfort yourself with hate eventually it's not enough.

when we started looking into the idea of moving to canada we could not believe how cheep land was here , looking back now i can see how farmers had been impoverished by CWB , how are you supposed to function if you don't have a clue when payment for your grain is going to come ? or if it will ever come

Yes and the conundrum was those who supported the board even though it kept them down. Stockholm Syndrome at its finest. Still some that support it but now don’t farm or at the least don’t do much grain anymore. Can remember a family whom were good right wing pious lot but darn never mention taking out the board. They voted liberal in protest of the govt taking out the board.
