ww1 was about monarchies and empires last hurrah at relevance. Sadly how many millions died because of a bunch of inbred monarch’s aspirations. WW2 was a continuation of things left unsettled from WW1 and crap which flared up because of WW1 aftermath not being dealt with properly. WW1 Germany didn’t get pulverized into true defeat and with harsh reparations of Versailles it only caused them to become more emboldened to finish what they started.
