and yet , this time it was ok ?- The NFU was very active in nation-wide debates on so-called "free trade."
- Canada's two-price wheat system ended July 31, a casualty of the then-pending Canada-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA or CUSTA). Months prior, an estimated 4,000 Canadians, including many NFU members on tractors, blocked the Ambassador Bridge linking Windsor and Detroit to demonstrate against the proposed plan.
NFU President Wayne Easter was featured at a large Pro-Canada Network Rally held in Regina.

• NFU officials participated in a tractor parade held in Brainerd, Minnesota protesting the FTA. It was clear that US farmers were as leery of this deal as their Canadian counterparts.

Just need to be a little more careful in who gets selected to be judge in this type of situations. Best to have one from the Trudeau Foundation board.
To late now. All the world is reading about it.
Your reputation is what it is.
This is Canada;
"About 280 account were seized during the Ottawa protests, and Canada became internationally known for being the place that punishes by taking away people’s means to buy food and pay rent without a warrant. Now that the Federal Court has set out exactly why that was wrong, Canadians have a solid precedent to point back to should any tyrannical move be embraced again."
One more nail in the coffin.

The Birth of the Emergency Act 2022
Coutts Alberta -
Police had enough existing laws and authority to arrest/detain protestors where guns, ammunition and body armor were found.
All egos were uninjured.
Ottawa Ontario -
The police who had the same existing laws and authority were unable to arrest/detain protestors brandishing coffee stir sticks and frozen beards.Last edited by rumrocks; Jan 23, 2024, 19:08.
