Improvements being made for sure in a lot of things like solar ……. And definitely in mono cropping
not arguing, just pointing out some facts you may not be aware of .
Ask TSAfarms , he understands soil biology better than most on here and how one can vastly reduce some inputs and reliance on pesticides and fungicides by improving soil health and driving plant sugars….. so yes it all starts with the soil to create a better environment

Definitely true , most of us have been there many years , control what you can control to give your crop it’s best chance is all one can do .
No one can control the sun or rain in any cropping system in dryland farming in western Canada

I could be argued that improving the soil gives you more out of the rain you do get.
Can really see places where cattle were bedded or fed here when it starts to get dry.
Direct seeding has made everything hold more moisture around here especially the grays and sandy soils.
Less evaporation and more OM.

Nice to see cycles return up north .
Huge snow this winter , water levels way up everywhere.
Fire risk non existent
