The suns energy is vast, free and unlimited so why not make good use of it?
I know why? Because oil companies don't like cheaper competition that will put them out of business.
Every 100 km costs a whopping $3.50 in a mid sized EV. In our case, solar makes that $2.00. The same 100 km in a vehicle that gets about 8L per 100 km costs $13.00.
EVs are 80% efficient compared to 20% for ICE vehicles.

A lot of things that are unsustainable on a large scale when labor is the limiting factor, might profitable and sustainable at the right scale.
The same technologies may also make it possible to intercrop where every individual plant could be planted and weeded and harvested individually.

I think the model will just evolve, the biggest limiting factor right now is equipment. You have a discussion with a monocrop farmer about poly crops and their big hurdle is the equipment working against it.
I would not say things are unsustainable on a large scale. They are currently impractical to invest in. Once invested in their sustainability is fine.
It would be nice to see more small scale farmers but that’s hard, and many are idiots that have to learn lessons the hard way before their idealism takes a back seat. But it would be good to see people actually learning it.
A coworker doesn’t know what canola looks like when it’s sprouting. Take a look around, it’s absolutely everywhere at work. Be aware of the world around you and you can learn a heck of a lot.Comment
