As the years progress the west and east are steadily growing apart. It is just the way things happen. Politics aside there is little to no need outside of government administration to have much to do with one another. The west looks south and west. The urban east are more inwardly focused rightly so. Warfare or kooks will not break this confederation apart but most probably apathy, neglect, and diverging paths. As alluded before even the ccf was result of Saskatchewan people neglected by the federal government. So this isn’t a right or left thing necessarily.

We really do need liberation from the east, I’m not sure the US is the answer, I’m hopeful Smith and Moe can get the ball rolling……

A lot of the east west divide is just the usual politics that has been going on for decades.

Western premiers often use the east west divide to further their own politic careers.

Crypto Polly will focus on Ontario and Quebec as well. He has no choice if he wants to get elected.

Partly true. Can’t deny that. Aside from that both sides of the country are growing apart culturally and economically.

The bigger split is rural urban across the country but even that divide is shrinking, as there are fewer and fewer farms and most kids are looking at the same social media.

Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg have more in common with other larger cities than smaller towns and rural residents.

Rural people are just as unlikely to know much about the concerns of city residents as city residents know about the concerns of farmers.

True enough but western urban areas inherently owe their survival to the industries outside the city walls more so than Toronto or Montreal which act more like city states.

The resource sector and agriculture are much larger parts of western Canada's economies.

It would be so beneficial if our western economies could diversify into productive sectors not dependent on resources and ag or even more value adding of our resources. Think central Canada kind of hogs that stuff but population, location, and climate give a leg up. The granite curtains on either side doesn’t help neither.
