Hey Breadwinner, any reason for the bad report for the old Vertecs? They are getting old and should all have new controllers installed. Other than that?

Has anybody had any experience with the stir bins that Flaman sells. They slowly mix up the bin while you apply heat and air.
I tried just heat and air last year. Grain needs to be turned. I might try one of these bins. Would sure appreciate feedback if any one has experience.
We have a quarter of our crop out.
Right now it's ultra soggy. Like I mean WET.

We also have a gsi 1116. Glenmor in Prince Albert are good to deal with. Our is a mid 90's. Have had it 5 years. Absolutely love it! We now dry early every year. Dry roughly 25% of our cereals in it every year regardless of weather. Just try stay on its ass all harvest when it's ready.

We have dried grain every year, we now have a 2012 gsi 1116. It works great, get it set and walk away. Our previous dryer was a farm fans 1990s cf/ab270. It worked great too bur we wanted a bit bigger. Get yourself a continuous batch dryer with canola screens. I have been told to stay away from vertec. Superb are supposed to really good too. Propane can be hooked up quickly but natural gas takes a bit of planning.

whatever you choose , simple is very important while you are sleeping at 2:00 am and dryer is working !!! nieghbors had a dry-mor ( I think ? ) (lots of moving parts ) a few years back and every second morning they came out it had stopped , very frustrating . it went to hodgins ! none of them are any good if they need supervision , lol

SuperB as well....great drier, I have dried a pile of grain with it. Parts and expertise are close in Foam Lake.

A mixed flow screenless continuous is another option. (There is a reason every elevator uses this design)
Very quiet. Smaller augers can be used as grain flow is continuous.

Western, Neco, Grain Handler (Vertec and Ibec used)

Vertec/Ibec are good. Simple. Ours has some computer stuff but is older but works good. Continuous or batch which ever u choose. Was about 60000 new about 25 years ago. Heard the new ones are all automatic and computerized and about a couple hundred grand or more depending how big. Ours will remove 5 points an hour and do about 4-500.
