Have you ever combined flax this early? When was it seeded? Looks clean.

        Grain Farmer, I'll happily trade.
We are usually on the opposite end of this trade. But after getting less than 1/4 of normal moisture all summer ( even less on some of our southern land that missed all rain in July), I'll take whatever you can offer. It would still help the grass green canola.

It's something to watch the radar this summer, until August, every storm passed just north of here. In August they go north and south of here, and some just peter out west of here. We did manage to get some hail a couple of weeks ago.

On a positive note, there hasn't been enough rain to lodge the crops much. Even the Esma barley is still mostly standing, in spite of the failed Modus trial.

But then again we did have 70% of the farm hailed on again this year July 10
still consider ourselves somewhat ok though looking at over 1/2 of western Canada … to date
We are still at risk of frost on the 60% of our canola from hail regrowth.
And yesterdays storms in much of Alberta and parts around here are a grim reminder that all can be lost in a 20 minute storm
            best of luck
ahhhhh , farming sooooo easy as quoted by insanely ignorant pretenders with zero skin in the real game

Sown May 9th, never have I taken Flax in August and before Durum most years its Flax in October. The Authority seemed to work well this year, put down the day before seeding with burnoff. She needed a rain in July, but oh well prices ought to make up for it, spreading nice and saves on handling. I know we aren't the only area that needed rain in July.

Next couple weeks look frost free. Last full moon there was a last minute change in the forecast.

Some Canola harvest happening in the area, low 30's im hearing to high 30's on heavier ground. Lock your bins shes gonna be light of the forecasts. Without some occasional mud crop is a dud.
