Allis WD45. One of the best ever made. Harrowed with 9 diamond harrows 9 years old. Cultivated and baled at 10 with Dad on the rack behind baler. Easy for a kid to drive had both the hand and foot clutch. I have a restored WD45 and a WF. Just garage queens now.
Another memory is The JD 440 crawler we had. Loaded many a bucket of manure at 13 years old. That was almost 60 years ago but i can still hear that little 2 cylinder engine running at 1900 RPM. Remember Dad doing the clutch in it. He and the neighbour just lifted the engine out and set it aside.

Sprayed and hayed with a 88 gas. Learned double clutch lol. Main engine was 830 JD. 18 hr days when Dad sick.
Not too long ago I as well could get nostalgic.
Now I take my hearing aids out before I struggle with the hood to figure out why the pup won't start this time on the 830.. Happy to shut it off after a few minutes. Rattles my nerves. For some reason I can't explain, the memories are no longer fond.
My city brother who lives in nostalgia, gets first call on the old girl before I sell her. I avoid ag museums unless there's a youngster willing to listen.

Stone boat! Wow.Originally posted by fjlip View PostShtfer, that's the same tractor...folks told me, I drove at 4, just push clutch and hold till we say stop by next rocks to pick onto Stone boat...
I'd stand by the barn cleaner chute and level the load on the stone boat, tow it out with the 88. Forked it off too.
