Friday Crop Report on a Thursday. End of June.

When big production areas have trouble it might happen. Most in big production areas know what’s needed to grow that kind of crop. The areas this year looking good now still need 50 days of growth. I don’t believe the nutrients are in place to get it there.

time will tell on canola but the new problem is lentils and peas. Yellow isn’t good.

I have always figured you need 8 weeks after full blossom in canola to have a crop. There is going to be allot of canola in full blossom after July 15th. That is min sept 15th.

I've always went by 3 weeks of flowering 3 weeks of podding and 3 weeks of maturing...Most canola in my area is still a week to 10 days from flowering. I don't want to do the math on that.

I'm in a better off area of the canola belt and I have 25% of acres affected.
Peas, 75% affected, either the plant is green or yellow, we'll see what this week brings. Field topography and soil type is everything here. From 5-10% to write off in a few miles.
