Hmmm, posters complain how grain buyers are out of touch, complain about their crops and then post pictures of crops that look quite amazing?!
Friday crop report on a Thursday the last full week of June.

Drive around go up to stop over to Edmonton and then down to Calgary over to Regina and up to swan and yell.me how things are. Plus like last years crop was mega but most are out of canola already. Any way 1 or two or a few isn't the whole farm.

Crop not amazing here. Embarrassingly bad actually so not pictured. Crop insurance for sure. Drove up through Smokey Lake to Bonnyville yesterday. Some stuff not bad, other fields worse than mine. Saw a grain bag in a field that it was too wet this spring to get to it. Likely going to rot in place. So yeah, last years crop really was over estimated as well as I have said all winter.

If the forecast from yr.no comes to fruition, we can look forward to 6 in of rain in the next few days. On top of the seven that we've already had. That would eclipse the total we got in 1999 when we only had a foot of rain in late June early July.
As I say it times like these, at least the farmers will be happy. Apparently the farmers are always happy when it rains. So I've heard.

Finished up 1st round of Liberty on canola tonight, tomorrow morning will spray the peas. Still have 3 quarters of wheat that’s just in the 3 leaf stage and a couple of oat fields in the 3 leaf stage also. Will, wait this weather out and see what moisture it brings us, hope we don’t get any of it but not likely. Weather forecast definitely not looking good.. If I can spray on Saturday I might spray some of my wheat a bit early.Last edited by Sodbuster; Jun 25, 2026, 22:53.

Always found when your wet and they forecast 30% what they really mean is a 130% chance of rain. Oh well always something to fix.
