I said we had below average breakdowns.
Everything is relative.
Only 3 tractor fires.
3 flat tractor tires.
One cracked tractor rim
Countless flat implement tires
Broken rockshaft on the drill.
Lost AC and blower motor in seeding tractor
Broken spring and U bolts on tandem.
Bearing on fertilizer auger
gearbox on another auger
Cart auger tried to consume itself.
The usual hydraulic hoses and leaks.
Transmission filter bracket broke and tangled with the driveshaft.
Countless other minor issues.not worth remembering.
As I said, well below average.
I won't even list the issues with the heavy equipment as we finished landscaping right up ahead of seeding.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; May 26, 2026, 09:34.

AF5 sounds like you have very shiny tools and buy hydraulic oil by the barrel, did you take the time to weld the rim only to have the tire shop decline the work due to risk of weld failure . . . . . but it still beats working in an office 90% of the time.

Local independent tire guy came and dismounted the tire at about 8:00 at night. Left his spoons and tire soap.
Neighbor lady who is also a B pressure welder was helping out this spring so I let the professional do it. Rewelded all the reinforcements that were undercut and close to cracking.
Used the right tools and the right tire soap to remount it ourselves. Amazing how easy it is with the right tools.
Back in business.
And I don't seem to have any trouble with tools getting rusty or forgetting how to use them.
