I will just add I could not make dust with a leaf blower and a flamethrower!

Looks like farming practice is the problem.

Based on the track record of the poster in question, I'd say this is definitely caused by climate change.

What we saw this past week was something we hadn't seen since the 80's. It is a reminder to the reason why we went into direct seeding in the first place. Guys that rolled pulses this spring we very hard hit. There was a time we rolled lentils when the crop was up, maybe to do that again? The wind has been about as bad as I have seen it in a long time.

Continuous cropping, and LOTS of trash normally has CANCELLED blowing soil here for a while...just watch those high speed disks boys!

Local B.T.O. seedgrower. Field looks like a sand beach. Wheat on the surface and in the ditch.

Dead soil and trash stays around awhile. Good biology cycling and trash breaks down a lot faster.

My best canola yields have been sown on stubble best thing that could have happened on this light soil farm. If only grandpa had the tools we have when he farmed.

Serious dust storms in North Dakota - driving conditions were treacherous.
