With the north and east side of Sask having lots of moisture this spring. What level of verticillium is there going to be? It has already been rapidly expanding over the last 4 years. This seems to me that this needs a lot more attention. Levels higher of a problem than club root or other diseases.
There is no chemical fixes for it and is probably made worse by chemical use?

I lived through it and that was not my experience. I guess you have more extremists where you live.

You gotta be kidding. I remember a farmer in Alberta who told me “I don’t care if the CWB gets low prices - as long we all get them equally.” Blew me away.
Also, waiting for others to join us for a meeting, I was stuck in the meeting room in the CWB offices with Ward Weisensel (COO of the CWB). I asked him, “What in your mind is the most important benefit of the CWB?” His response with no hesitation: “Getting the same price regardless of when you deliver.” So no benefit to hold grain - even though you were forced to.
Agstar77 - gaming the system? How? By whom?

I went to University with Ward. Smart guy but thought alot of himself.

I had another friend at the CWB. In a meeting where they were discussing potential for sale. The Board hadn't sold much wheat yet that year. One of the oldtimers pounded his fist on the table and said I don't care if we sell anymore grain this year at this price. My friend said "How does a farmer run his farm with no cashflow?" Apparently it wasn't a consideration.

I have another friend who went on a trade mission to northern Africa. One individual said he buys $90 million in durum a year from the Wheat Board and had trouble getting a call returned many days.

The Wheat board was a failed experiment similiar to our current medicare. No leadership vision, not willing to try reforming the system to work better in the current environment.

CWB. Where poverty wages are applied. Was one of the best days for Ag when it was put in the history books!

There isn't an outcry when crush margins are negative?
Too bad I can't buy shares in Cargill.

Although change is complicated with several factors at play.
I think John got a partial explanation why weekly reporting won't exist for a while. Even if it would shed light on the current situation.

Funny, with reflection I think the first hand accounts of the ridiculous would fill a book.

Thanks to Mitch for the post. And to John for his efforts.

Felt more like (WINNING ) when I used targets a few years ago now it just fells like I am pulling down my pants. Now I get constant texts with (SUGGESTED TARGETS) for some reason it seems more like manipulation than hand out helping business deal. OR maybe just getting to old for this shit.
