Depends if you can fill your contract, slippery slopeOriginally posted by Grain Farmer View PostForeward pricing some at what we think is a poor price at the time pays off in the end.
$16.75 sure looks good now.
there are crops yet again north of here well below average
just food for thought
pre pricing put several farms under here in 2021. Grain companies completely 100% don’t care , they will tear you down
just food for thought on pre pricingLast edited by furrowtickler; Sep 29, 2025, 21:39.

sure farmers could easily find some one to fill at that price also.
Has worked great for us .

that was the case for two years straight here .
I get it , we have done it for years
and this year easy peasy , think back 3 years
farmers have extraordinary short memories or have never been burnt

No one ever can predict a futures price , then throw in political interference now, best of luck

I often have cows rotating through my crops. And horses. And rodeo stock. Had Buffalo a few years back. Lots of the queens livestock. A pet pig. Free range chickens.Originally posted by TSIPP View Post
Cows should be in the rotation
I find they do more harm than good while rotating through crops. It was frustrating enough back when it was our own cows, there is just no upside when it is someone else's cows.
