Farmers need to protest. No one hears the mutants. Why should canola and Lentils growers sit quietly by, farm representatives aren’t doing a thing, so why don’t we get on our oldest tractors and mount some horns.

Here is something I do know.

1988 - Grant Devine mortgages the province to save agriculture. It was a good bet by him.

Many in ag representation don't realize they have been allowed to farm because of that .

So when I see these generational farmers sitting on boards , I take them as slightly retarded when they talk about not needing an acreage payment or help from the government.

Many on here won’t remember prairie pools but they lobbied hard in the 90s for farmers. Held a rally at sask place with 20000 farmers. Now we prob don’t have 20000 active farmers in existance. Bto told me he tries for 50 bucks net an acre. He farms 28000 acres. Said he will hit that this year, he isn’t complaining.

They also get the most attention when things go south. If anyone believes some of the big farms losing money haven't been on a phone call or two directly with the government for help you would be fooling yourself. The squeaky wheel will get the grease in one form or another that the rest won't.

They are still price fixing bread. I remember the National when Peter Mansbridge was saying how the price of wheat was going to affect bread prices. The bread prices never came down when wheat sewered not too long after.

Steve McKinnon was on Rosemary Barton live this Sunday September 14 and no mention of agriculture in the trade issues. Steel aluminum and auto was mentioned for help.
