Drove Regina ,Moose Jaw area yesterday and several fields being harvested.Wheat, peas ,lentils and barley.Any yields reported. Our area peas from low 30s to 50, lentils low thirties to low forties. We will start peas tomm, green pea yields have been in the 40s here so guys are happy with that.Looks like the smoke and a cooler summer has helped to retain some yield.Read on another sight canola crops in parts of Alberta are projected to be record yield. Seen pictures and crop does look amazing but still grass green.

Nothing going on here for the past 10 days as the rains finally broke through the dry zone north of hiway 16
      some areas very wet now
We have lentils ready to combine when it dries up again …..
peas / wheat been ready for pre harvest a week or so
hopefully get back on that job tonight
Only a few peas were done a few weeks back NW of here , yields in mid 20’s I heard .
Lots of green peas been desicated a while now and most likely are bleached right out
hopefully our lentils not sprouted, will find out later this week

Been quading into our Canola fields looking for Berthas. Bad outbreak in the area. If we average 35 we’ll be lucky, look better from the road. Peas maybe 40. Wheat probably in the 50 range. Canary lucky to get 20.

Even with recent rains , canola here north will be mostly below average
can’t go 40 days without rain an suddenly get above good average yields with one or two late rains

It will be an interesting week here, with all this moisture around and 30-33 degrees predicted. Lots of desiccated lentils in various states are waiting for a chance to get picked up.

              Ughhh! That sucks.

We just got hit at midnight, not sure what damage was done.

I have had that happen too many times. So disheartening to be so close to harvest and then to have to just go through the motions to clean it up so you can seed it in the spring.

Had one half section of 50 bu durum flattened. Not enough to affect the yield for crop insurance. I had hail insurance but never enough to replace the value of it.

Luckily I had rolled it in the spring because I cut it like lentils.

Furrow.. It’s been a tough year in that area. Sometimes it’s best to take a day or two for a mental break before starting cleanup.

Sorry to hear that. Feel sick for you guys.
This time of year is tough. Right on the cusp of harvest and some of the wildest storms of the year popping up.
