Where do you buy Phostoxin these days? I know a person with the right license that works at a retail but can't get it.

Farmaholic, I'm interested in the type of trap you use to catch gophers. I've tried a mole trap without success.

"here" when I convert long term hay or pasture into crop land the moles and gophers take the hint and move away into the neighbors within a couple of years. Tillage or no till doesn't seem to make any difference.

Bucket: I've bought from Guardex in Ontario. They are more of a wholesaler and not an expensive retailer. Even with shipping it was cheaper.

recapped: we used leg hold traps, but for humane reasons they need to be checked frequently and a trap with something in it can't catch another one. It's definitely a time commitment. But can be effective at getting the elusive ones, that can't be shot...you can't hit what you can't see.

Albertafarmer5: I think gophers like to be able to see what's going on around them, so ending up in a tall dense crop probably isn't where they want to be.

Neighbour tried it last year and as far as I’m concerned it worked. Told him he should have done it at night so everyone was in their holes. Downside it pulled a lot of big rocks up.

A neighbor tandem disced some hotspots in his field, seems the only thing he accomplished was compromising the seed bed.
