Should sell the excess to someone making bioferts.

Can you imagine the outrage of creating bio-fert from milk.
That might be frowned upon, its not like making ethanol out of excess corn.
Problem is I doubt there would be enough spilled milk or a consistent supply, and who is going to gather it? Or would it have to be transported to the processors then picked up from there. I bet there isn't as much available as a guy thinks.

Two things, dumping because of "excess" production SUCKS. Dumping because of contamination... would that not make sense?

To me, dumping asks the question. How inefficient is the industry and how long can it survive without change.

A quick google search shows many videos and articles from the US of milk dumping and spreading in fields...is this also cause by Canada's supply management?

Milk is a staple food and a perishable item. Is it better not to dump it than send to the processor so it can get thrown in the dumpster because it wasn't needed. Supply management is not the devil people make it out to be. There is always going to be either an over or under supply to the market based on many factors. Take away the quota system and the extremes get more exaggerated and the farms get bigger...because they have to so they can weather the bad times.

Price wise "market" supply and demand benefits the processor, not the consumer so don't think dismantling the system will help your milk purchase. If you don't agree ask yourself if the price of bread comes down when wheat falls in price...it's the same scenario.

Edit: Milk makes good vodka, can feed pigs/chickens/calves, would have fertility value. It doesn't have to be wasted, that's just a choice by the farmer, again, not the system

                Thank you.
                Maybe dumping a poor example.
                But the inefficiencies still exist.
It appears the industry needs some work and defying any change eventually fatal.

I read that too. So I went down abit of a rabbit hole. LBJ Capital Inc, the company that bought the share of Monette, was dissolved in 2023. So someone bought them out.

Would that be when Pattison invested?

On another note, apparently Pattison and Brandt are feuding. Pattison is selling all blue inventory and won't be a dealer anymore.

LBJ Capital was Lanny Beniot who at one time, maybe still is involved with Central Mountain Air.

Dave Ductayvich, or however you spell it is well known in the NE for 3L Cattle Company.

Have no personal knowledge of Beniot and Monette, but Ductayvich could sleep in a grain auger quite comfortably.
