Big Fat Ontario is quaking in its boots. Trump’s tariffs will crush their auto industry and that province. Pity we don’t have a leader who realizes we have to quit this insane invitation of terrorists and illegals. Trudeau is willing to sacrifice the country for his crazy ideas. Trump says Wow Punk.

It’s a perfect time for Western separation. let Ontario and Quebec sink or swim. They are the the crafters of their own ship now.

It’s quite simple , all those fired useless government employees can go work on farms and do something useful for a change

Trump cares less on who comes INTO Canada from the States .He wants Canada to stop people going INTO the States. If the States can not control the illegals coming from Canada and going into the States there is something wrong.Because the numbers of illegals are very small traveling that way.

I get your point. But I do feel our borders too porous.
One can only hope every muse from DTs' lips is just that.
Otherwise it'll make the result of Smoot-Hawley look like a picnic.

Which direction is our border porous? Never heard of people going south as a problem as Trump claims.

I see the problem as being how easy it is to get into Canada and receive some kind of Canadian documentation. Easy to claim refugee status. They have no ID. Borders also include ports where less than 2% of containerships are checked.

Lots of open border between Canada and the US. The Ontario border would be a nightmare to man. Last year 358 terror suspects were caught going into the US from Canada as compared to 52 from Mexico.

CBSA, the RCMP and CIS are all subministries of the Ministry of Public Safety. They are just following orders.

                Yup. And the smuggling problem.
How many exit, or entry for that matter, inspection facilities do you see at say for example, Wildhorse?
Compare facilities at Aden/Whitlash as well.
Our site hasn't changed since the 70s. Theirs since 911 has in a big way.
We're not simply arguing over a Trump talking point. It's a bona fide Canadian issue.
Crime handguns in Toronto are 99% smuggled. Tobacco products like gin during Prohibition.
Forget Trump and sweep your own floor first.
Never happen of course. Politics. Don't dare offend any hyphenated Canadians.

We've put ourselves in such a bubble here. The awakening will be harsh.
Safety officers, DEI, unions, Kumbaya. Fools, you'll see.

The CBC is a reflection of many government agencies.
An example of everything you describe above.
The safety officers would be approving the programming.

Canada is so vulnerable - loose immigration polices has led to smuggling, narco-trafficking operations, money laundering, transnational crime networks, transnational repression......but hey, some people need to be tariffied.
