Hope lake agassiz doesn't fill up I am close to the edge but would still be under by about 60 feet . It would be deeper yet where those cats are working. But that was back when dino's ruled.

Just pick up a truck in Vegas drove back through Nevada Idaho and Montana some field work being done some fertilizing only seen one drill goin in Idaho most things very brown yet . winter wheat coming out of dormancy.Very little moisture in east central alberta very cold today.Comment

Slowly getting stuff up to shop here, yard drying up .
Still snow in fields and around yard , water running in areas , about normal other than all low areas and even big sloughs were dry last fall.
eager to see if tilling project was worth the time , money and effort last fall . Won’t know for a while yet , time will tell

Definitely feels like spring here.
Virtually no runoff, the poplar buds and ***** willows are poking out with the odd sprig of grass showing through. Partial fire ban already which seems to be recurring theme.
Ran all the cows and bred heifers home to vaccinate them before calving although a few early calves beat us to the punch. It snowed a few inches today and the steam was rolling off the bred heifers and yearlings like crazy after the four mile hike home. Ended up pulling a calf after the move and my daughter was helping me while everyone was starting to process and that was nice.
Ended finding a couple cows that didn’t pay attention in math class since there was two cows and three calves
Had a friend asking about the economics of cows the other day and it was eye opening to him how many years it can take to turn a calf into cash. Last July is when this crop was “planted” and won’t be sold till January ‘26 which is 2.5 years and kinda crazy when you think about it. I guess we must love it especially after trudging in the corral mud that try’s to suck your boots off all day. A great crew makes it all go as good as it can even if the weather isn’t so good.
Life is great……….. even if the next “slow day” won’t happen till sometime in June.
