Lots of blah, blah. For one thing plants don't accumulate carbohydrates they manufacture them. That is why there is life on earth. Also everybody knows that a drought stressed wheat crop has lower yield and higher protein but the better crop will produce more total protein.

Incorrect. Plants make their own food of course we know C6 H12 O6, but they also accumulate it. The issue is about nutrition. Nutrition isn't just what you've been trained to think or read about on a food product label in the grocery store for example. At best they mention energy, protein, fat, carbs, sodium, maybe fibre. Breakfast cereals might mention "fortified with iron" for example.
Empty calories are why the first world is chronically obese.
Nutrition in part is content of major and trace minerals. In general terms plants supply vitamins whereas meats supply more minerals. The problem with CO 2 fertilisation and excess N to boost yields results in dilution of true nutrition.

it is a tax on living…

It's a type of Pigouvian tax like taxing tobacco or sugary drinks. Purpose is clear to those that understand

There is some doubt that the authorities fully understand the consequences.

            Lots of backsliding going on.

            They are loosing the faith.

Nitrogen producers are inevitably going to try partner with their customers to harvest carbon credits to greenwash the CO2 emitted by their production plants and Phosphate mining.

Like all these programs it will come down to cost/benefits for the hassle.
Wouldn't get into any long term contracts as demand should increase as all Ag suppliers are going to have to buy credits to greenwash somewhere.

I'll look into it. Easy money. Half will go to the agronomist for the effort.

Can’t hear much from the climate talks in Dubai. I suspect things are not going well for the Climate Crackpots.
