From a wet fog / smoke morning , can’t see the sun all day , then cold north wind . Cleared off. Froze hard ,seen sun ☀️ yesterday for first time in long time , to stiff east wind last night then heavy thunderstorms at 2 am at 9 c .
Gauge says 2 in but that might still have the 6/10 from a few days ago
Managed to finish wheat and get off 500 ac dry canola somehow since late Saturday.
Cereals would not dry down here since rain on last Thursday.
Canola yields are less than 1/2 of wheat was here , but that was expected with very little rain all summer when needed . Not as bad as many areas but with falling prices not great either .
We at 60% done now .

Furrow as the rain quit here last night I was looking at radar and watching it trend in your direction and was curious if it rained. We were fortunate, no frost here and I am guessing probably a couple of tenths of rain. As for harvest we have our first field of barley roughly 2/3 done. The only pea field in the neighborhood has been combined, sounded like decent yield, my son talked to him I didn’t. We are just over 20% done swathing canola. One field of wheat left to pre harvest. Certainly lots of barley being combined, one neighbour who seeds his barley first is done. Only one neighbour has combined some wheat, they will be drying it. Barley yields ranging from 60 on sandy soil to upper 90’s on better land. Wheat I haven’t heard, sounded like less than hoped.
