Forecast here looks wet until the middle of May.
Still waiting for last winters snow to go away and the last of the water to stop running.
A little rain should help melt the rest of the snow and even up the fields. Right now the high spots are dry and the low spot and water runs wet.

Yeah the runoff was almost done. But it rained a bit today and it fired back up. Which tells me the soil can’t take anymore moisture. That frightens me. But. It will be great for the pastures and hay. Something about rainfall makes it come to life again. Last spring we had normal spring rains, just snowmelt. It was wet enough, but there is something about rain.

We were hoping to get going late next week but weather forecast might mean a later start. Most fence lines at this point still have snow but the runoff is mostly done and fields are mostly firm. About a quarter inch of rain so far today, hopefully it will bring soil temperatures up.

              You will need more sheep.

              Is breeding stock high?
Yeah reasonably high east coast is flooding again.

Goat breeding herds are high here. My neighbour is nicely entrenched in a hobby farm that pays its way.

Half inch and still raining. Warm rain so hopefully takes out the last of the snow.
