You can't tell me the Board of Directors at the time didn't know what the books looked like or what the deal was. If they didn't they weren't doing their job and should still be called out. They could have, but the ones that were appointed by Ritz Cracker more than likely received a golden egg and had to sign off in order to get the hush money.

Taxpayer purchased rail cars because they were hauling for the board. Who else could pay for them? The pipeline was just paid a mandated fee to handle.
Got rid of the boxcars i guess.
They are now derelict and clutter various sidings where paying tanker storage could sit. Salvage.
