So, carbon can be sequestered but, someone please enlighten me as to how carbon inthe soil can be measured?

Perhaps you missed it, after all these global warmings can be very tricky and stealthy nowadays.
For example, did you miss the polar vortex, or the Texas ice storms or the record cold temperatures in Antarctica and Russia or the ice growth in Antarctica etc.?
The signs are all there, you just need to adjust your perceptions, lower your standards and hypocritically change your definitions constantly.

Simply measure the organic matter as a proxy for the carbon.

I wondered that as well, but if that's the case whether zero till, or perennial forages, or "regenerative ag", organic matter goes up slightly to a certain value then plateaus? There must be a way to measure yet to be discovered.

Perhaps the whole carbon thing is a crock. In the news today they were whining about a shortage of soft drinks and other beverages partly due to a shortage of CO2?!!! WTH, I thought there was too much.

You forgot to mention the record and near record heat and dryness of 2021 in western north america as more evidence the earth is cooling! LOL

Where is the scientific evidence that the earth is cooling and that we need more CO2 in the atmosphere?

Which scientific organizations are saying this A5?

I will give readers the answer since you seem completely unwilling to produce any evidence. No scientific scientific organizations are saying the earth is cooling and that we need more CO2 in the atmosphere.

That's why many farmers and farm organizations are asking to be paid for carbon sequestration and other greenhouse gas emission reductions.

Greenpeace this week raised growing concern over companies buying carbon credits . And it's not just Oil and Gas co's but everyone wants to put on there box that they are planet friendly. Buy the credits , look good in public, and pass the cost onto your customers. ... Belching cows are the least of our problems !!!!!!!

Interesting article on dthpf.com by Chris Clayton: “Carbon market continues to evolve.”

Companies like Basf talk about the carbon credit market being global and that programs will be developed for corn, soybeans, wheat, canola etc. In the U.S. farmers will be selling carbon credits but do not pay a carbon tax. Has anyone in Canada seen programs from companies like Basf and Bayer which have started programs in the U.S.? Looks to me it is more about selling more products than it is the environment in the U.S.

It’s always been about selling and trading a “commodity” than anything to do with environment

So what is stopping me as a farmer from putting up my shingle and selling carbon credits/off sets based on my farms past 38 years of zero till and going into the future???? at a discounted rate of say $50.00 and acre per year..
