In our experience, and we’ve been burnt in the last 33 years, the buck stops at the seller, everyone else dances when you sign agreements and agency agreements. Every day some flim-flam outfit is wanting product, on terms. Bye Guys! I live and love this industry, been here from the start, but hate to see farmers exposing themselves to possible defaults.

But look at the American companies, Colombia Grain and Anchor. Buying all sorts of product in Canada, no bond with CGC, and no one cares. I suspect the industry reverts back towards no bond with CGC.

American companies, and probably more Canadian, i suspect will build more facilities close to our 49th parallel. Set up in Minot, or other towns and cities in close proximity.

Damn i hate getting out competed, i suspect it will be like the meat packing industries and others, plus government taxation - carbon etc.

Hauled straight into USA on truck. No facilities needed. No CGC bond needed either.

And most brokers want truckers to use ‘blind bills’ so the farmer doesn’t know where his grain is going (presumably to prevent the farmer from marketing directly to the customer in the future). I never thought that was right. But broker should be on the hook then.

You still hauling that sulphur from Vancouver or now that they are building a plant in Saskatoon to make the same thing is that done?

Do they use canadian ports and rail services yet?

That grain would be bought in USA not Canada. We hauled to US in 1986 and dumped wheat in their elevator pit and were paid upon dump. My hauling across the border into Fortuna or Minot is not selling grain in Canada, is it? Furthermore, how is that remotely like blind billing? Or giving credit to unlicensed, unbonded companies?

They were just bringing that in short term for spring demand.
