Lighter kernels would change the math.

      It’s used in ND.

Next year will be interesting as now the tank is empty on lots of farms. Were sitting on some quarters with just over 3 in since seeding they look not nice. Some are close to 5 better most sitting at 4.

If I farmed on the west side it would be two crops Durum and Lentils done.

Eastside Canola HRS Barley Oats Done.

Storms are on their way today. HAHAHAHAH ok it's spitting in Regina and for a half-hour the wind was nuts.

Except the disease cycle in lentils is almost 4 yrs.

Spraying fungicide 3 times and then for grasshoppers then taking half your acres off with the header on the ground sounds closer to torture.

Still need a 3rd crop in there for those guys. Maybe not canola.

Aphanomyces has forced our area away from durum/lentils rotation. And weeds/chem problems. Most guys are down to a 1 in 4 year rotation now. One guy had aphanomyces so bad that he hasn't grown a pulse in 6-7 years now. Crop insurance sent a letter to a local guy this winter stating they wouldn't cover another yield loss claim from aphanomyces.

Crop insurance will probably be sending letters stating they can't insure for drought next year.

Much like the way the rules changed on too wet ...

Not sure they will do that but they will make sure 60-80% coverage is very expensive.

Be a lot of “new” applications after this year as well.

Rolling lentils after they are up could open the stem and invite disease. Could be wrong but we never rolled our lentils since 1980 and never saw the disease. Just sayin!
