There is a large part of the explanation on why farmers and ranchers assess information for themselves.
Education is expensive.
If we took all expert advice unchallenged we might have even less neighbors.

My analogy is when a new untested and unknown canola variety comes out do you blindly trust basf and seed all your acres to it? Cause we are seeding the whole farm by vaxing the world.

Is that the way it is done with canola varieties? Must be a bumper crop of dead plant bodies. Where is the vaccinated human equivalency?

Why not accept the fact that we may have got lucky beyond what could have been expected. Pity that the world didn't have it sitting on the shelf at day one.

Unvaccinated Americans leading to a rise in covid cases in 27 states. If you do not reach herd immunity the variants will spread. Just as not HW the resistant weeds leads to more of them.

Again a sign of not understanding, no one was talking about going after a resistant weed. It was about how they got resistance in the first place, no different than vaccines. Plants that are able to withstand chemicals go on and multiply, same with viruses, the ones that bypass vaccines and infect those with antibodies from infection or vaccination thrive and go on spreading the new “variant” of themselves. This is how variants gain foothold and spread. Calling unvaccinated people variant factories is irresponsible, it’s just another way of trying to guilt people into getting vaccinated.

Two questions keep coming up in my mind:

#1- So a few cases of the dreaded Delta Variant shows up in the last few days but with our robust contact tracing and quarantine measures we don’t stop it in the bud, we allow these few cases to radiate out just as Trudeau left the borders open the entire Covid Circus.

#2. Immunity Testing: why aren’t there any available immunity tests where people can check their immunity? Those who have had Covid and those who escaped it time and again don’t need their vaccination. Is our science so dismal?

In the back of my mind I wonder if the reason why immunity testing is not available to us is because the vaccinated ones might get a big surprise along with their green card.

Covid will be with us for the forseeable future. As long as there are lots of unvaccinated hosts to contract and spread the infection, more serious covid variants will be endemic at some level.

Since only the more developed richer countries can afford to keep vaccinating their populations, developing countries with higher infection rates will provide a source of new variants that will likely overcome the immunity that vaccinations provide.

The good news is that vaccinations still offer a great deal of protection from serious cases that would otherwise make you much sicker and possibly put you in the hospital. Vaccines will need to be updated as new variants appear. Just like the annual flu shots.

Those that can't and won't get vaccinated will find restrictions on where they can go and what they can do, for at least a while

Will travel insurance cover people who don't get vaccinated? The good news is you won't have to listen to the rabid antivaxers drone on at your favorite tropical holiday spot. They will be enjoying their winter holidays at home.
