GDR, they do it slowly so you barely notice it until its over. Little erosions here and there until you are basically in serfdom sitting on land that the govt can take with the stroke of a pen.

Most of Canada is already owned by the crown.

And if you dont think govt cant confiscate an industry through regulation then I have a fishing boat in the Maritimes to sell you.

There is a shred of truth in every conspiracy thats why they are so irresistible

They don't confiscate it they just keep looking for places to raise taxes to cover all the deficit spending at all levels.
Already are doing it here on any small parcels that are cut off on thier own title.
Real estate is always a good investment till government taxes it away from you. Has happened throughout history.

F ucking Nature Conservancy doing it around here. Buying up all marginal land. Using our tax dollars. Giving far more than the land is worth to retiring farmers. Oh you can keep the land and do whatever you want with it until you die. Then it's ours. How do you as a dirt farmer compete with an offer like that for land? Government is patient. They will own it all soon enough. When they do you can count on them just bulldozing the roads closed and redrawing the park boundaries. A$$holes. Any NCC minions reading this don't ever show your face on my yard.

NCC and DU are land aggregators all funded by government. Been saying this for years.

Yet people blindly think they are conservation groups and donate.

          It's just phucking stupid.

I have put up no trespassing signs so if I catch the phuckers even walking on the land without permission I can have them charged and have emails to government to make them understand that.

Where it really bites the adjacent private property neighbors is when the protected lands begin to assert buffer zone controls on the land surrounding the conservancy held land.

Here in Ontario, those buffer zones can be extended to as much as 120 meters from the property line, depending on the designation of the protected lands.

I and a few other property rights advocates have repeatedly pointed this out to county Council, the ones whom have the say on approval of these "policies", all to no avail.

The head of council and the planning department routinely accuse us of spreading misinformation, but never can point out what, exactly, that consists of.

Now very recently, our local MPP, who happens to be be the Minister of Agriculture, announced a multi-million dollar Provincial grant to "study the effects of buffer zones around environmentally sensitive areas".

This backstab comes after, direct, face-to-face discussion with her on the the harms this will bring to farmers all across Ontario.

But there are still those who think that the government is looking after our best interests and is here to help us...

              Utter fools.

Personally because the banks operate as businesses, they are a lot more business friendly than CU or FCC. But each to their own.
Hear what you're saying but it's bit of a stretch to call FCC a non-profit lender.
FCC revenue from interest charges in 2021 was $1.3 billion.
Net income was more than $800 million.

Dow Jones transport index appears in-trouble (canary in coal mine IMO), China in clear slowdown, commodity weakness, grain price break and slowing inflation, while central banks try to hold up stock markets with a broom stick.

                  This could get interesting folks . . . .

Requires a concerted effort by the whole country to tackle. With everyone pulling a different direction there is no will to tackle stagflation. It would seem likely that the course we are on is the one we will continue on...
Not saying that some sectors will not be in a classic inflation scenario as consumers run from one shiny fishing hook to another. And those looking to protect their net worth try different asset mixes and acquisitions to make a profit. They will, but the economy as a whole will likely experience stagflation
