By this logic, Crystal Meth is obviously very good stuff, after all, people make it, people sell it, people consume it. Gambling is a very profitable activity, why else would all these people go to Casino's and play on the VLT's. Smoking is good for you, must be, companies sell it, and people consume it. If I start a company selling buggy whips, that would automatically mean that there is a demand, and it is profitable. etc.

An even better example though, is food production ( and nearly every other consumer good) before during and after the Soviet Union. The country went from self sufficiency, to mandated production which led to mass starvation, and eventually to huge imports, then with the end of prodution mandates, back to huge surpluses. Just because bureaucrats wave their magic wand and say this must be so, doesn't make it economical, or viable.

Since Alberta already has a lot of renewables and is planning more under the AESO, who seems to be okay with the plans, it obvious you have lost the argument that intermittent renewables don't work.

50 % less carbon dioxide emissions. Gas is more flexible when using intermittent renewables. Same thing is happening in Saskatchewan. Without CCS coal is gone.
