The problem isn't "cash". It is corruption.
In my careers, there was approximately 0 opportunity to be paid in cash. So I had the priviledge of paying a lot of taxes. Meanwhile there are countless other jobs and businesses that earn a substantial amount of their income from cash. Can't blame them, but it sure makes it hard to get ahead when paying your own share, plus the share of those doing mostly cash business.

The cash angle is interesting but here is something to think about if Trudeau did that to the Montreal area don’t you think the big Bosses would have a bullet with his name on it already.

They won’t go away that easy.

Is it a given that his big bosses wouldn't/couldn't still benefit from it?

If corruption is the "root cause", the currency is irrelevant. Cashless could make it harder to expose, especially when the whole system is as corrupt as it is.

So it appears at this point the answer is we don’t know if it will mean more control. Lol
Too many unknowns for one thing we don’t know the limits of the digital currency ie will it be crypto like etc. Will you have to state the reason for the transaction in some way so it’s recorded.

So do you think this great reset is going to lessen government control? It’s time for a great reset with the government, this bull crap isn’t going to stop until the people pushing it are doing the hangman’s jig.

We are 95% digital currency now, even with the traditional paper/plastic bills. With this everything can be tracked and traced.
Ie) who would have thought 20 years ago that we would be buying a bottle of water with a tap credit card.

The gov has time and the adoption to digital has been exponential, with easy public acceptance ( if Govt were to impose it would be a much different story) all Govt has to do is print less paper for circulation, short the market and people will gravitate fully and quickly . No kids carry cash any more.

Now crypto is different, private untraceable, anonymous, is the new cash or paper but digital for those that want or need to cheat the system. Govt don’t want or need crypto’s, I don’t know if I really want or need i5 either.

From just stealing or looting other people's stuff. To bartering goods. To precious metals. To coins. To paper money. To digital commerce.... aren't we already almost there?

When has the govt not taken more control? Every move they make consolidates their control a little more.

I have no idea what they are meaning by reset at this point.

As some have correctly pointed out we are so far into digital already to make a claim hey theyre only going digital to control us well for one thing that’s almost done if that’s the real reason.

Isn’t another reason simply an advancement of technology more handy and convenient?

This is like any other tool or advancement it will depend on the ones controlling it as to whether or not it will be used to control us. My opinion if they want to control us they will with paper or a key pad.

I agree with that in most cases not always.
