Third wheat, third canola, third feed barley, fairly consistent. As lots of wheat acres get abandoned for barley and canola perhaps wheat may be the money maker next year.
I'm suprised feed wheat price has held up so good. I sold the rest of my wheat for 6.85 today picked up for feed.

Looks like my pasteur will be going for feed this year. Basically grades a 1cwsp with 16.5%PX. Plenty of higher protein milling wheat in southern ab this year, so not alot of interest from the milling market. Not much premium either. Best anyone can do is $6.75 delivered 2.5hrs away... I'm thinking I can probably find 7.25 delivered within a 3hr drive.

KISS theory still in operation here.
Alfalfa- less due to horrible haying conditions lately and old/tired fields coming out of rotation
Barley- less due to disease issues
Canola- more as a rotation filler and to clean up some fields
Cows- more since some fool 😉left the bulls out longer with a big bunch of heifers
Fences- more since there’s an abundance of rotten old fence currently past it’s best before date
Grazing Corn- more since there’s more cows and no easier way to feed them
Got all the fertilizer delivered/on it’s way and the seed mostly lined up too. Spent $25k on posts and wire yesterday ............ got 1.5 miles done in November and a lot more of those to plant yet😎
Enjoying the beautiful weather working at least since there’s not much else to do anyway

It's a bit drier in our area but I haven't seen much impact yet. I have only sprayed lentils one year for ascochyta/anthracnose for that matter. I do use intego on all pulses. We don't grow canola either and I have never seen sclerotia even in wet years. Not entirely sure what the reason is except drier area.

fuz always a problem here
There is not much choice for midge resistant. AAC Awesome and Sparrow.
Sparrow looks like a long season type. Both Awesome and Sparrow are UPOV91.
Pasteur is not midge resistant and is long season. Could be hurried up a bit with heavier seeding rates. On 12 inch spacing and I hate to cram a pile of seed in a foot of row.
The Soft White types have lower fus resistance if you ask me
