They'll keep trying, presenting the information in a different way, wearing out the opposition, until they succeed in conning enough people into voting against the industry's best interests.
The PHD [piled higher and deeper] expression comes to mind here.
It is rather 'condescending' to tell 'us'- we farmers... that we need 'professional' people to run our farms... and that they need to 'train' us in the correct way to manage our farms by 'correctly' selecting our seed.
The ability to 'tax' and 'collect all our data' as seed grower/farmers[CSGA members]... through their 'Seeds Canada' monopoly... was a very alluring prize [for the trade] had we 'drank the 'cool aid'' they had served up for us!
High priced lawyers and 'con'sultants; seldom have common sense dirt farmers best interests at heart!
