Anyone think a year of quarantine is reasonable?

Easy to say when you never had to work for a living.... this won't go over well.
Just wondering how you get from" We will not be coming back to our former normal situation; we can’t do that until we have developed a vaccine and that could take 12 to 18 months,” to "Jr. wants us locked up for 12-18 months." That is quite a leap. I hope you never hurt yourself jumping to this conclusion.

Is it any wonder problems in agriculture are not taken seriously when farmers publicly make exaggerations and claims like this?

There are lots of steps in social distancing between quarantine and the life Canadians had before Covid-19 and to claim that Trudeau wants to lock everyone up for 12-18 months based just on context and your hatred is almost funny.

Now there is no doubt that stating Trudeau wants to lock us up for 12-18 months is an exaggeration but there is one over bearing fact, until 40-70% of the population is exposed to the virus there is no herd immunity. As soon as we end isolation and resume any level of normal interactions there is no doubt potential that the virus will take off again. In John Iverson's words in the national post discussing what could happen if social distancing measures were all lifted:"Extrapolating the Public Health agencies own figures, that would see 1.4 million hospitalized, 460000 entering intensive care units and nearly a quarter of a million Canadians dying." So as much as I dislike Justin Trudeau and his political ideologies I do not envy his position. On one hand if you continue for next 12 months with most businesses shut down and people isolated in their homes you would risk doing unrepairable damage to the economy and government finances or you start lifting restrictions and risking the scenario John Iverson layed out above. Neither is a pretty picture.

We already have the model out on the Rez.

All the money comes from the government.

No reason to get up in the morning.

Kids don't have any reason to go to school.

Lots of slack time to fill and no where to go.

All those that thought that looked good are going to get a taste of it.

            Can't end well.

Shite for brains. Your agriville name was well chosen.

Why generalize about the 3100 Reserves across Canada? I am sure you know in great detail all about each one!

There are reserves and first nations businesses including some who work in the oil sands that have been very successful. Lots of first nations people are hard working and productive Canadians.

Yes there are lots of problems but your negative view point and generalizations are part of the problem.

You are perpetuating a racist stereotype and its not f..king helpfull.

Sorry to say this but shtferbrains post was pretty well the truth. This country and the hard working people that reside in it have been paying the tab for these people for 100+ years and we CAN'T afford it anymore! There are lots of them that work hard and I won't deny that , but it's the rest that give them a bad name.

Not trying to stir the pot and get everybody mad , but Shtferbrains had a damn good point.

They haven't considered what will happen when the 'dem' is taken out of pandemic.

I'm saying a segment of our society is going see what it"s like to walk in their moccasins and find out how hard it is to get out of that trap.
